Moitvational Camp for PSR, Year 6 Pupils for Tutong 1 zone

Bakiau Primary School attended a Motivational Camp for PSR Year 2012 examination candidates, which was held recently in Keriam Primary School with other 120 pupils for Tutong 1 Zone.

The motivational camp was held to help raise the awareness of the students on the importance of learning methods, arrangement of timetable, completing daily work and making efforts towards success.

The motivational camp aimed to encourage teamwork and motivate the students to be bold, confident and respect their friends, as well as preparing them physically and mentally for their coming PSR examination.

Mathematics and Science Olympiad Ceremony in National Division

Alhamdulilah one of our Sekolah Rendah Bakiau's pupils won an award in Brunei STEP Competition in Mathematics Olympiad 2012 where he was in the 8th ranking in national division. We are so proud of Muhd Afif Ruzaini bin Muhd Sofian, Year 6.

Jollibee Super Kids Club Creativity Workshop 2012

We glad that Jollibee came to our school to conduct this Super Kids Club Creativity Workshop. The pupils were so happy because they were given an opportunity to compete with other schools in creating beautiful pen holder.

After the pupils finished creating pen holder, they have fun by playing many games conducted by Jollibee also not forgetting the teachers were also involve in playing the games.

At the end of the workshops, the pupils were given prizes and they really love it.

Family Day in Brunei Darussalam

To celebrate this family day, the pupils were asked to draw anything about their lovely family. The theme, 'Keluargaku, Harapanku', which means 'My Family, My Hope'.

In the institution that we call a 'family' we can learn priceless life lessons, lessons which are taught from one generation to another, we gain wisdom from the leaders, learn how to be a man from our father and learn how to respect women from our mother.

Early Bird and Fun in Numeracy End of month activity

After the global week, the pupils have more fun by doing the end of month School Leadership Program. In this activity the pupils will try to find the the answer using FIN questions and link it to the Early Bird questions to get the answers. After the pupils figure out the answers each group will present it to their friends.

Pupils practicing oral presentations to their schoolmate would gain excellent preparation and skills for future professional meeting/conference assignments in the workplace.

Oral communication to an audience is a useful tool in all classes across the board of education, (Derrick 2006) and in all work and other environments. One learns by doing.

Global Week

This Global Week is the activity for Pre School but our Sekolah Rendah Bakiau did this activity for the whole school to show the pupils the different types of traditional games back in the old times. Pupils now day were called as the term "screen kids" as they didn't know the games way before they were born.

So all the teachers in Sekolah Rendah Bakiau discussed the different traditional games as some of the teachers also didn't know there were such games. So the teachers came up with certain interesting games such as:

1. Simban
2. Inambang
3. Lompat Getah
4. Tin-Ting
5. Nenek Kebayan or Wahai Nenek

This games was conducted in different stations and the pupils were put into groups according the traditional food such as:

1. Penyaram
2. Ardam
3. Cacah
4. Cincin
5. Sapit

Before the pupils play the traditional games the pupils sang the traditional songs along with the teachers.

From Collages After the pupils finished playing the traditional games there were a surprise game which is the " Kayu Tiga". This is a match between the Female teachers with the boys team versus the Male teacher with the girls team. Even our headmistress also played in this game. From Collages

From Collages At the end of the day everybody had a great time. Actually the traditional games did not beat the technology. As it really interest the children to play it more.
